Eddsworld Halloween Short is an animation created by Edd Gould. It was uploaded to Newgrounds on October 24, 2005 at 8:28 PM EDT and later to DeviantArt on November 10, 2005. It was uploaded to YouTube on March 4, 2016 with edited music.
Plot[]
The short starts with Edd looking around, when suddenly, he starts screaming at someone or something offscreen, which then hits him in the eye and kills him, splattering blood on the wall behind him. The screen then zooms into his blood, forming the title and thus starting the short.
Edd and Tom bid each other goodbye and start to walk to their respective homes. While Edd is walking, he gets the feeling that somebody is following him and looks over to the other side of the road. While looking at the other side, he then walks into a tall, grim reaper-like figure. Edd freezes in fear. The figure then pulls out a sledgehammer and hits Edd over the head with it, killing Edd and leaving his corpse to spew out blood.
While Tom is walking home, he hears somebody running towards him. Tom, startled, asks, "Uh, Who's there?" Before he can get a response, the figure jumps out at him and slices his face off with a sword, revealing most of Tom's skull and subsequently killing him.
The scene shifts to Tord walking home, minding his own business when suddenly the figure appears from behind him and slices Tord in half with a sword. As the figure looks over his body, they remove their hood, revealing the killer to be Matt, who then pulls out a revenge list and ticks Tord's name off from it. Suddenly, Ash Williams appears in front of him holding a shotgun, and shouts "Yo, she-bitch! Come get some!" Matt runs at him with a knife, but ends up running into Ash's shotgun and getting his mouth caught around the barrel. Ash then shouts "Swallow this!" and shoots Matt in the mouth, killing him. A random girl appears and hugs him, while he states "Hail to the king, baby!"
The episode then ends and the epilogue states:
"And so Ash slaughtered the fiendish Matt, who wanted revenge on Eddsworld for killing him off so fast in EWZA"
References to other media[]
- This is the first appearance of Ash Williams from the Evil Dead films. He appears again in Zombeh Attack 2, where his head explodes after he picks up a fake Necronomicon.
Goofs[]
- When Edd gets killed in the intro, his hair turns darker.
- When Edd says goodnight to Tom, his mouth is not moving.
- When the murderer is revealed to be Matt, the letters "OGM!" appear on the screen instead of "OMG!".
- When the killer (Matt) comes across Edd and Tord, it is much taller than them. However, when it kills Tom, they are normal-sized.
